| Bio: | Adriana That much talent and so young not to mention the push of artist parents. Careful gal, it’s too amazing and that little twist of your head when you perform like a shrug at how you got here. Already friends of yours are lost to Rx or a smoky haze. You’re feeding on poem-blossoms, tossing off sugar shot, every line sweet, hard to miss. Cau- tion! I’ve seen it before, the kid full of talent, too much too soon. Only you’re too practiced, the mike pressed to your lips like a lover, the black costume, the wide- eyed stare at anyone who would dare to doubt. Maybe the real beware is for the old guard wit- ness to your coming. -David B. Axelrod Adriana DiGennaro studies literature and creative writing at Bennington College in Vermont. Her first book of poetry, Peripheral Vision, was published in June 2001 by Writers Ink Press. Her poetry has been featured in Red River Review, The Aurora Review, BigCityLit.Com, Ancient Heart (United Kingdom), Eclectica, City Writers Review, Poetry Midwest, Falling Star Magazine, Long Island Quarterly, Triplopia, Clean Sheets, Sidereality, Southern Ocean Review (New Zealand), Perigee and The Improper Hamptonian. She was on Red River Review’s list of nominees for a Pushcart Prize in 2001. Her second book, Acts of Contrition, has just been completed. Her work is also included in Whispers of Inspiration: An Anthology of New American Poets edited by Darlene and Steven Manchester (Sunpiper Press 2005) and in the poetry anthology, A Generation Defining Itself: In Our Own Words, (MWE Press 2005.) | |||||
